lug nut stud size

i'm ordering a set of new lug nuts. i have swapped from 6 to 5 lugs on my 69 and now have 72' front and rears. when ordering i'm asked if their 7/16" or 1/2" lugs. anyone have a clue? thanks

As a general rule, 5-lug have 1/2" studs and 6-lug have 7/16", but if you swapped them?????Who knows?

longhair, i swapped from 69' - 6 lug axles to the 72' - 5 lug axles. so, if what you stated about 5 lug generally being 1/2", then i'd be 99.9 percent sure, that's what it is. i was originally thinking it was 1/2". thanks for the info

Yep, 1/2" for the 5 lug from a 71-72. I just picked up new ones from NAPA, saved on shipping cost
