are these original??

My neighbor has a 50's GMC truck that had these dummy portholes on the hood and a hood spear. Are these original accessories? Did Chevy also have them or just GMC. Thanks for any help.

I have never heard of the portholes, so no, I don't think they are factory holes. As for the hood spear, I am pretty sure those were an option in those days, only for the .

are these original?

The hood ornament shown on the old GMC is a available GMC Truck Accessory, prt no. 2233249. More commonly used on '46 Oldsmobile cars. Spanky Hardy.........Collector Of Fine Old G.M. COE Trucks & Antique Holmes Wreckers.

Oh yeah, the clear lucite insert is missing from that ornament. The GMC trucks from '47-'54 , more commonly used an ornament similiar, but it had wings. It is prt. no. 2233301. They both used the same base. Catch ya later , Spanky Hardy...........Collector Of Fine Old G.M. COE Trucks & Antique Holmes Wreckers.
