70 GMC fenders and Grill on NC CL

Guys,

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/1853671710.html

I went to look at these yesterday....not in bad shape, but each fender had some repairs done to them....the passenger fender had some work done around the eyebrow area....but the front cup was in good shape.....the driver side had some dent repair along the top of the fender.....these can be used for 68 Chevy trucks too....

It's a father/ son build where they are changing out the front clip to a 71/72....The father is teaching his son how to resto a truck using the son's own money.....super nice folks and would probably come off that price due to the issues....they also have this grille too....think they want like $40 for it...some dents and rust, but would be a good driver....

saw these the other day geoff and wondered about the condition of them since they didn't post pics. thanks for the pics why didn't you get them you looking for a perfect set? was there no rust issues? you still collecting for a 71/72? I need some but not really right now unless its a great deal and this price seems fair.

Dwayne....I was this close to picking them up, but all I would get them for is trading....also I was concerned about the repair areas....they look like they were done ok, but you never know....I kinda wish the PO just left them as is...if they were perfect I would of run off with them!!!.....I think you maybe able to get them for $100....the son listed them, but Dad is the person you should negotiate with....

I didn't see any other rust issues either....I'm still collecting for the 71/72 project....you know where I can find a cab???...

I think his Dad was headed out of town Tuesday, so check with them when you can....The eyebrow area looked okay, but its just so darn hard to tell....looking inside the fender towards the eyebrow area, there was quite a bit of "mud" caked in there...that's what scared me most...the dr side one didn't look too bad...let me know if I can help ya out with these....anything else you on the look out for??...let me know

I forgot you still have that parts truck out back maybe when you finish the other cab, I'll take that one and you can start all over on the parts cab

thanks geoff ,still might not be a bad deal even if you can only use one of them for $100,are those the only pics you snapped? ...... the only thing that I need as far as sheet metal is a 68 radiator support which I know is a needle in a haystack search for an original and 2 fenders. and not sure about the bedsides, I've got two sets and niether one of them are in great shape. I've been working on the cab hope to finish up pass. side tommorow.
