Where can I get a grille with the bowtie emblem for '79 C-10?

The grille on my '79 currently is some aftermarket one: (pictured below)

and Im wanting one like this one: (pictured below)

I want one like the one above with the emblem on it- everyone i find is just the grille minus the emblem- does anyone know where to find one with the emblem as pictured above? Thanks

Lmc or brothers trucks are usually good for these sorts of pieces

i haven't owned a square body in a long time but guessing from the bumperettes this looks like the super cheyenne model like my 75, it may be something you could forward the pic to them and they could figure it out to make certain, good luck with the search, it will be a huge upgrade over the bars for sure

When you find a good grill, the emblems are still available...

The aftermarket grilles do not seem to have provision for the emblem;new old stock bare grilles turn up on ebay along with the emblems and the trim strips;expect to pay about 200 for a grille;50 for an emblem and 200 for the trim.
The same grille was used in chevy vans as well;a search of older wrecking yards and craigslist will often turn up used parts.

That's the right grille. They also sell the bowtie for about $60 I believe.

LMC has original grilles for 77-79 with the provision for the emblem but they are about $300 without the emblem. The price is the only thing that has stopped me from getting one because im in the same situation, have a tube grille that i dont like and want an original

Yep. Watch ebay before you spring for a new one. I bought a good one completely intact and original for $20 or $30 bucks, I don't recall. They come up from time to time.

Re: Where can I get a grille with the bowtie emblem for '79 C-10?

I got mine 2 years ago from classic parts of america. they dont have them now but I have seen them go on ebay lately for around $230 and that includes the stamped painted bowtie emblem....

This is the stamped emblem that the LMC grille is missing... It comes hot glued on...

If you want to use the bolt on emblem, you have to take this one out.

GM PN#14004752 - Charcoal

As for the horizontal trim pieces for the grille, you can buy the lower piece but the two upper pieces that touch the bowtie are strictly NOS or junkyard...

Here's my grille now, with the horizontal trim and the stamped bowtie.

Re: Where can I get a grille with the bowtie emblem for '79 C-10?

I picked up the horizontal trim for that style of grille on a junkyard crawl a few days ago. It's not totally flawless (it has a couple of really tiny dings if you look very closely) but is in extremely good condition. If you would be interested in it, let me know.

Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum rules with this. If so, I apologize.
