Thumbs up New seats for Fred

I just picked these up over lunch. They are dirty, but should clean up just fine. No rips or tears that I can see so far.

I'm not 100% sure that I will use them though, so they might end up on the for sale board later on down the road. But I'm at least going to make new brackets and install them to see how they feel.

Nice, I think you'll like the comfort factor of them once installed. Make sure to do a write up or at least take pics when you do the install.

That's what I need. The cool factor of buckets with the seating room of a bench. Nice find Bob.

Those are a good choice. That was the seat I was going to use in the 84.

Re: New seats for Fred

Nice score!

Those 60/40 bench seats from 95-99 are probably the most comfortable GM ever produced.

Re: New seats for Fred

Fred should like those. Look very comfy too. I have a set of black leather all power buckets from a 99 Yukon I've been toying with the idea of installing in the 86. Just really like the old school look of a bench.

Re: New seats for Fred

I got them installed. VERY comfy, more leg room, but I don't like the color match to the rest of the interior, so they are up for sale!

Re: New seats for Fred

dye just the sides of them dark.. that way you get a two tone effect and the part you actually sit on are still regular

Me neither.

Ken, these can't be recovered (as in remove the OEM covers and replace), the material on these is adhered to the foam, so it's nearly impossible to remove the covers. When I was doing conversions and up-fitting, our upholstery shop tried, but the seats were destroyed trying to get the covers separated from the foam. The best "covers" I know of are Katzkin, but for the price of those I could buy a new seat.
