Please help me ID the real "Buddy Buckets"

Just bought a carb and intake off a guy and got a smoking good deal. Walked around the other side of his non-running truck and ran into a buddy bucket setup. Casually asked him about them. Keep in mind they "were" not for sale. He said they came out of a small back window 67. When I asked if he would part with them.....he basically said yes.

I have read other posts were guy thought they were buying the right ones then found out they were not even chevy seats. There is even some IH seats on ebay right now that look the same. They look structurally great. The driver's side will need foam and recovered (the ones I'm looking at).

How can I tell if these are the real chevy truck buddies? They did come out of one and they don't look altered but I want to be sure.

Thanks!

I cant help with the seats but I was just in Bend, Oregon a week ago for a Chevelle show. I saw a bunch of these old trucks out there ,drivers and parts trucks too. I wish I could have looked at some of them. Beautiful part of the country you live in ,glad I could visit.

flip them up on their back and the foam should have GM embossed on the underside ...

Re: Please help me ID the real "Buddy Buckets"

I think some of the dodge seats had GM embossed on them also. The chevy seats had an extra leg that ran to the floor under the center console. Post a pic and we can tell you...

The top set are Dodge Buddy Buckets. The bottom set are Chevies. Notice how the center seat on the Dodge buckets is more square on top, and the Chevy center seat is more rounded on top.

I keep seeing that the brackets are different. Like for instance look how the brackets on the dodge seats are straight but on the gm one the center seat is raised up a little bit.

Thanks for the great info guys. I think I need to just do a roll by his house. I do have to agree with the "if they're cheap enough....buy them anyway" thought.

FLASHED: What Chevelle show are you talking about? Here in Bend? There was a "Tiger Run" here a few weeks ago but it's an all GTO show. They look kind of like a Chevelle. lol Didn't know of an all Chevelle show in my area. Yes....this is a beautiful area. Right on the tree line so a 1/2 hour drive will put you in snow or the desert. Lots of old stuff parked around here.

Re: Please help me ID the real "Buddy Buckets"

Prostreetc10 ,
The Chevelle show was actually in Canby at the Clackamas County Fair grounds on July 17 and 18 th . Im not sure how close that is to you but I recall seeing signs for Bend. We drove our Chevelle from Georgia to Nashville and met up with 4 more Chevelles and picked up another on our way to Oregon for the show. We went home thru Northern California on over to parts of old route 66 and then to Oklahoma City for our last night. We visited 20 states in 17 days but we had a great time. Oregon is a beautiful state and one day I will venture back out there.
