Secondaries now work, downshift speeds?

I finally got my secondaries working, I thought they were working before but I was VERY wrong, my truck now hauls ass! I do question the speed at which it will downshift, if I am going 50mph or slower it will downshift instantly, above 50 it won't downshift at all. Should it downshift above 50?
After flooring the accelerator below 50 it will downshift and stay in 2nd until I hit 60 then it shifts into 3rd. Does this sound right? If not, what speeds should I experience an upshift and downshift?

I have had this truck since November and until today I thought the secondaries were working, slightly, I didn't have a lot of power at high RPMs but thought I had some other issues going on, after cleaning and adjusing all linkages involved in the automatic choke, once I got it all cleaned up and lubesd, the secondaries work perfect! I was so excited I went out and floored it a few times to feel all that hidden power! It's awesome now!

Re: Secondaries now work, downshift speeds?

I noticed that the cable going to the transmission from the carb has about an inch more travel when the accelerator is to the floor, should there be that much more travel in the cable? I can pull at least an inch more cable out when it's floored, is this normal or should the accelerator pull it all the way when floored? Thanks! Aaron

Thanks! When the accelerator is floored does it upshift at around 60mph? That's what mine does, it seems like it could go a little longer before the upshift, it's not bad, just seems to shift a little to soon

Thanks again!

Some of the early th350 did shift a little soon. I think you can get an adjustable modulator to help with that. Mine shift at about 60 ish nailed also.
