What gas tank for EFI swap?

Putting in a 1998 Vortec 454 (7.4L) in my 1968 GMC swb. When I purchased the truck the PO had removed the stock gas tank and put in a real big gas tank in the bed behind the cab. It was held in place with a screwdriver stuck in a hole in the bed....

I guess I looking to put one in the back part of the frame, but I dont want one that hangs down very low. I would like to spend around $200.00 or less for this since I have to get everything for the rest of the fuel system.

PICS PLEASE!!!!
Thanks!!!

Re: What gas tank for EFI swap?

Have you checked to see if the stock tank out of the donor will fit? I put a Blazer tank in my 71 with an external pump, but you might could make the donor one fit. Even the Blazer tank required some mods. Removing a crossmember, etc...

Re: What gas tank for EFI swap?

The truck that the engine/trans came out of is long gone. But I do knnow that it was a 1 ton truck and very doubtful that a gas tank from that truck would fit my swb.

I think I have found an after market fuel cell thats going to work perfect. So now what EXTERNAL fuel pump is everyone using?
