last pictures for now
Check out the original dent free bumper that I picked up for $40! It will be dropped off at the powdercoater's with the front grille soon.

Re: Project 65 C10- Take two
Here are some updated photos. I found some Hedman headers that fit with a slight modification to the passenger lower control arm. The inner fenders, radiator core support, heater box, brake booster, and other small parts have been sandblasted painted and reinstalled. I have painted and installed the new steering column and connected it to the 700r4. I had the rear axles redrilled and the hub register turned down so that I could use some '71 5-lug drums. I also cut 1 coil off of the stock front springs to improve the stance which was a bit nose high. I am ready to start plumbing the motor and brakes and running electrical so that I can fire up the new motor. i will also have to rig up a temporary exhaust so that I can drive it to the muffler shop to get a new system made. Enjoy the pics.

It's alive!!!
Well I was finally able to take the truck for a spin around the block this afternoon. What a satisfying feeling it was to back it out of the garage under its own power. The engine wiring is only temporary and the fenders, hood, and grill support are not installed but it was still great. The motor runs great, the trans seems to shift fine (you never know with a used trans), the power brakes and steering also worked great. I cut one coil off of the stock '85 front springs and think it is sitting a bit low. I am planning on running a set of 1" drop coils for the front instead. The next step is installing some shocks, pinion shims, and permanent wiring. I want to take it to a local cruise/show on December 12th so that is my deadline.
I struggled with the brakes for a few days and finally figured out that the s10master cylinder could not push enough fluid. I switched it out for a C10 master and now they work perfectly while still using the s10 booster.
