Grill opinions
Okay, I got a 81 chevy longbed and have been going back and forth in my head what to do as far as the grill. Plans are to primer the truck flat black as ill be blacking out most everything, only keeping small accents of the original chrome. But when it comes to the grill im not sure if I want to go with a standard billet grille or a full phantom grille.
Hopefully you guys can give me your opinions and help me out here. I took a few pics from google just to give you guys an idea of what im talking about here. Option 1:  Option 2:

Personally i would go with option #1, but I'm always was more prone to a classic look, regardless of how modern people try to make their vehicles look. But that's just an me. Are you going to go that whole "sporty" look or do you want your truck to look like a "Classic" ride? I've always looked at the lines of any old school vehicle and thought how rad it would be if modern cars and trucks had that standard today. But alas, its all tricked out ****e and smooth lines and giant rims that really don't fit, if you don't agree, allright.
But that's just me. I always loved the word "Classic". '59 grills look like teeth, and option #2 looks like you're hiding something. To me, #1 looks like what it was meant to be, an era. Just a humble opinion, you should do what makes you happy.

Also, i think it would look pretty awesome with just that subtle chrome border around the whole grill, with the lights exposed like that. I think it just looks meaner to be honest. Good Luck!

makes it look like the grille is missing to me in either option but the phantom also hides the headlights, kinda like they are missing too.

Well im going for a sporty look but dont want to lose the classic look of the truck. I like the idea of the phantom grille due to the fact its not often seen in my area but for some reason I keep thinking id be happier with option 1.
Low1ton, that truck is beautiful! I considered actually blacking out everything including my bumper like yours but then decided I wanted to keep small accents of the original chrome t help break things up some. |

I have an 88K5 and was thinking of some kind of mesh grill but keeping the center bar... I don't think anyone makes something like this so it would be different...
