More progress.....
It's getting that truck look back.....
Worked on modifing the 84 stepbed to fit the stock fenders. Once I finish the alignments, I get to break out the welder and fill in the old fender's holes. After I ground off the 84's step lips had to play around getting the bugger on to line up. This is fun by yourself. Here is passenger side, first one.

Now for the driver's side. Since I was spraying to cover up the bare metal parts, thought I wpould play around a bit to see how the white would look on the truck. Still thinking of going that way.
The boss sorta suggested the farmer green is not an option. Still in the air though. Oh well. Nice hot sweaty and productive day.

Looking good!
I took the bed apart that I got the other day. Now I need to see if I can weld sheet metal any more! If I can then I need to piece together a good bed out of the two I have. At least my fenders are in good shape! Anyways keep up the good work. I am gonna get down there soon, I promise!

How abouts are you going to fill your holes, i have a set of MINT pre 67 sides im using, i have to fill the holes and make a template out of my 67-72 sides to lay over, too bad my 67-72 sides arent mint cause it would save a ton of work, anyways i think im going to tack a little piece of thin gauge on one side then fill the hole then grind the thin gauge off then grind the welded side...is this the correct way to do it?

Derek
That is the part I am still working on myself. Been a LONG time since I did any welding. Didn't have to much then, my dad was a master with metal and welding, so he did all that for me. I am thinking on the same lines. Heard if you use a penny or copper sheet, then you won't have as much to grind off on the one side. I'm going to be practicing on my old bed sides.
