ok, i got the battery charged (according to the charger), the horn works (small electric stuff), but I can get it to turn over. has the battery gotten to the point where it will give enough juice to run small stuff and not enough amps to turn over? also how do i tell? i'm not good with the electrical stuff? how do i tell if the alternater is working or not working? any help is appreciated....

First thing you should do is put a multimeter on the batterywith everythingin the off position (should read between 12 and 14 V.) Then with the multimeter in sight put the ignition switch in the start position, battery voltage should go no lower than 10 V. If the voltage does not drop more than a volt and the engine does not crank it is not your battery. I would also put the leads on your starter and relay to see if you have juice there too. It is kindof hard to troubleshoot without my hands under the hood.

i had it running yesterday and was backing it onto the driveway, then it stalled as i was going over the curb. i had to jump it to orginally get it started. i will try the multi-meter process. any other words of wisdom?

Thats the same problems I was having, charged the battery up good through the winter, put it in the truck and got lights and everything but wouldnt crank. Try a different battery.

you can test your alternator,with a "crescent wrench" ///////start your truck , loosen the pos terminal with the "cresent wrench" ,pull it off the battery, if your truck dies ,youve got a bad alternator,,,,,once your truck is started the alternator runs all your electrical,my dad taught me that trick,they usta take the batteries completely out when he was younger to street race,to save weight,....itll work, try it on a truck you know has a good alternator
