Body Grommet for spare tire carrier, stepside
Trying to locate a fender well grommet for the spare tire holder on my wife's 1970 short bed step side truck. It is the seal around the part of the holder that goes thru the fender well and mounts to the bed. Has anyone tried something else to fill that hole? thanks for any ideas.

first, welcome aboard! no, I've never seen an exact replacement grommet for where the side mount rods pass through the fender. your best bet is to look at Ace or Lowes.

Seems that fender well grommet would be a simple part to reproduce. Guess there isn't enough demand. Glad my '69 long bed still has one.

Seems you'd be able to find a firewall grommet that'll fit there. I never really saw a reason to deal with it on mine....maybe for better aerodynamics!
