i need pics of a few things on your truck...and info

1979 chevy k20 4x4 silverado with air conditioning and small block 350/350 tranny.

will the guage cluster from a 1982 suburban fit in this truck?what would ned to be modified,if anything?

im a novice with air conditioning, but i have all brackets, good compressor, and lines, condensor etc.i know i gotta bolt it on,and hook the lines up n stuff.but what should i buy to get this going?the r12 to 134 kit and cans of freon?and anything i should do to prep and make sure its gonna work or whatever?sorry for the confusing question,im just not good with air conditioning.and it gets to 120 in the day here.

AND-when i turn the blower motor on like the fan,air is only coming out down by the feet area and nothing much out of the vents.all the ac duct is good and intact as well.its got me puzzled.

AND-as for newer power seats,i installed some in my truck(yes, all reinforced) where should i tap into power at?im not exactly sure how you guys have done that.

ok,if anyone has pics of these things it would be GREAT cause trying to explain it would be a tad confusing.

anyone got a picture of the ac blower motor area, all that stuff for ac and heater etc,im trying to look at the electrical where some stuff plugs in.

sorry for all the questions,i just really need help.and this is the best chevy site out there.

thanks guys

Are you going from a full gauge cluster to another full gauge cluster? If so, I would think plug and play. If you're going from idiot lights to a full gauge cluster, no, lots of rewiring to do there.

Pay someone to do it. If you don't have the proper equipment to evacuate and recharge and add oil etc, and you don't know what you're doing.... You'll more than likely do it twice, and be paying someone the second time.

Sounds like your blend door is not moving. Could be a vacuum issue, broken spring or a few other little things. Not near enough information for me to help on that one. I'd start by checking all the vacuum lines going from the HVAC control unit though.

I've never had anything older than an 81 myself, what does your fuse box look like? Glass fuses or blade fuses? Usually is a place labeled BATT or Battery or something, is a hot connection you can wire accessories in to. Seats can be wired to be always hot, since they should not have a drain on the battery unless actually being used. Just make sure it's a fused connection and not a single hot wire from the battery or something.

the only th ing im going to add to what Randy said is that when you run the wire to the battery clip in the fusebox be aware that you should have a fuse in the line to the seats.. 25 amps should be good and make sure you use a thick enough wire to handle the draw
