well im dragin home another one

well over the past few weeks ive been lookin for another truck, mainly for better econimy. well ive found one and if dads boss will let him barrow the roll back ill have it home tomarrow. now for the facts its a 1979 long bed c-10 its got a 250 and a 3 on the tree, with power stearing and it runs great has a little bit fo a choke issue that needs some attention, BUT the best part about this truck is the cab it is all solid the rocker panels, cab mounts, floor boards, and cab corners are all solid witch is perty hard to find around here. but the truck has only 104,000 miles on it and the engine has no smoke, so its a perty good truck for 850 bucks. it needs some body work but ive already tracked down a nice bed for it thats real stright. so my plans for the truck are give it a 2"/4" drop low profile radial T/As with a set of stock steelys with the chrome hub caps and paint it hawaiian blue(which is its orginal color), do a t-5 swap and drop in a set of 3.42s or 3.73s couse the 3.08s thats in it has no bottem end power tryin to move a set of 28's, then do a cam swap for a towing cam add an older cylender head thats been shaved and drop in some bigger valves and maby an offy intake with a 390 holley. but for right now im gonna fix the essentials and drive it all it realy needs is the choke fixed, belts, change fluids, get all the lights workin and do some brake work and she will be on the road, hopefully tomarrow ill have pics of the truck for yall

Dude if you are looking for more economy ease up on rodding the 250. Keep in mind I like the sixes, but its a comprimise to do perf work to the 250 and still expect great mileage. I have an older GMC six, that gets about 6-8 mpg in town, but it is a hoss, Jay
