Factory Gauge Readings
Hi Guys, new here, just a question about the factory oil pressure gauge in my 70 gmc. it is a mechanical gauge, but im not sure of the indication lines. does it indicate 15,30,45 or 20,40,60? or something else? i know silly question but i,ve never known. LOL thanks for any replys, BROWN 70

60 pound gauge unless from a c-40 or bigger truck. Than it COULD be an 80 pound. (depending on engine application)

Of course after 40 years, who knows how accurate it even is. Should be close enough for most people's needs though.

I have a 70 chevy 3/4 ton and it is stamped on the gauge 80 lbs. 350 engine.

I would guess it was changed out at some point. Alot can happen in 40 years. I have seen alot of clusters over the years and never seen an original with an 80# gauge in the 1/2 -1 ton series...

It should be on the front of the gauge down low. You will probably have to pull the gauge to read it.
