Windshield Wipers
Although we only have a rare occurance of rain here in So. Cal, I get very annoyed by the harsh squeeking sounds the windshield wipers make the few times I do need to use them. I keep threatening to go through the system and track down the source of the noise. Has anyone rebuilt the system? What are the key components that need to be checked? Were the windshield wipers on these trucks ever quiet? Thanks...

Squirt a little WD40 on the joints and replace your wipers and the sqeek will go away.

Use some white Lithium aerosol grease and besides the tower. If you pull the cowel off and pull the clip where the transmission arms attach to the shaft from the motor I'd put a little dab of solid grease between the arms that go to the individual towers. There are little brass bushings there that could be rubbing together causing the squeek! Hope to meet you when we get together with Dion and Co.

squeak
I've already had to take the wiper towers off & tip them upside down to get lubricant into them.
