Talking Texasfunk vs. Westtexasz

Well our dragstrip finally opened up, and who do i meet there, none other then a fellow board member, ask him if he's gunna run, and replies, well, i was hoping to run you. all in all had some good clean fun! moses the truck looks good in person! cant wait to see how clean that one turns out!! got a quick vid of the race (it was already getting dark) its not a great vid, but hey, its something
our track has been closed for 3 years, and street racing has gotten bad, so the owner opened up the close down for racing, hand drop street style! truck would not hook for s*$%, first race it spun all the way thru 3rd, after that kind of slowed into it, cant wait to go again next weekend!

it was "street racing" night, no slips, plus we're running in the shut down area, no timers and we leave by hand drops

thanks! its only my second race on a drag strip ever, ( i kno i kno) takes some getting used to but i will say, was a ton of fun! and the track is located in idalou east of lubbock, right now they are only running 1/8th mile due to the track cracking from bad contractors repaving it, we had been without a track for 3 years, but since the street racing got bad, the wner is putting on a street night. here is my first race on a track ever, cold tires, no weight in bed, torque happy 383? yea, i learned quick...

Re: Texasfunk vs. Westtexasz

Yea, you know it's an 81 or 82. One of the quarter lights it out. Looks like it had the Mustang. I see nothing but tire smoke. You need some slicks or better throttle control to push it.

You bet it's on!!

Yea, def throttle control! I launched at 3000 and nothiing but spinning all the way to the end, after that I kind of rolled into it! I have some weld 15x12's I'm going to get some et streets for, as it has to be DOT approved for the street legal drags

5.3? It's no match for our trucks. I've toyed with 5.3 truck owners. Ya better bring something modified, because a stock 5.3 will see nothing but tailgate.

Really? I didnt know that. I guess I'll have to cam this one and add a few extra goodies. Then again, its just an idea at the moment.

Re: Texasfunk vs. Westtexasz

A 5.3 can hold its own. Remember, we are not running stock engines. A stout engine needs torque to get past us.
