Fulton Visor?
i love the look of the external visor, but it seems that they were designed to fit trucks with split windows. So my problem is, i have a 55 1st series and i am not sure if they make one to fit, or how to modify the visor to make it fit.
any help, especially pics of trucks with visors on solid windows will be greatly appreciated. thx

Re: Fulton Visor?
I thought that I've seen a version that mounts only on the sides. I'll look for the pic.

1947-55 Chevy Accessories Guide
Check out this link, it has a part number for the visor on a 55-1st series but I'm not sure how accurate the information is.......
http://53truck.ez15loan.com/howto/accessories02.htm I have the Guide outside windshield visor p/n 986877 and I hoping to have it installed before the end of the week. Hope this helps. |

Re: Fulton Visor?
This truck is virtually the same as mine but mine has running boards and a front bumper. The second truck NEEDS a visor.

Re: Fulton Visor?
These were an accessory to the 54-55 truck. There is an accessory installation manual that details the process of mounting it.
There is a bracket in the middle that mounts to the roof. I need one more part and I can put mine on the suburban. TW |

Re: Fulton Visor?
There were probably about 6 different Visor manufacturers back then so you've got to research them pretty good as many were very similar in design.
Check out this guys stuff as well as my last link way back in 2009. http://www.bigjims.net/visors.htm The 54 & 55ist series Visor for the one piece windshield is the 4th one down the list and the mounting bracket is the last one on the list! He doesn't have a picture shown on the web site but he could get you more information? Last edited by Atomsplitter; 08-13-2010 at 10:01 PM. |

Re: Fulton Visor?
I like the visors on the 100% restored heavily accessorized trucks. I like the Snoopy or Bullwinkle look on everything else, IMO.

Re: Fulton Visor?
If you find a 54/55S1 visor, make sure it is complete. I paid less for my cab than what some guys sell the visors for.

Re: Fulton Visor?
I am still considering putting a visor on my truck. I have been focusing more on getting the mechanics addressed before I go any further with the aesthetics. I do agree with chevyrestoguy and if i continue down the ratrod path idk how the visor would look.
