will a door off a 1984 chevy fit 1978 chevy?
i need a door for my 1978 chevy, i got a guy who wants to sell me a door off a 1985 chevy for $20. is the door gonna fit or should i just keep looking?

yup, i think the 81 and up doors are built better than the early doors

it will line up bolt up and function properly the interior is different and i dont know for sure if the interior panel will interchange but its been covered here before. The vent window is different design but it will work.. on a beater truck or daily driver noone will notice from the outside

The door will fit, but the interior door panels are different. The 78 door panel is very short, so if you put it on the newer door, there will be some large square holes in the door under the 78 door panel. If you buy a set of newer door panels, you can solve this problem.

77-87 panels are all the same size and mount the same, just different in looks. 73-76 panels are the short ones.
