My Project

Finally took the time to figure out how to post, so here are pictures of my 1960 GMC short stepside. Recently pulled out the old v6 and am in the middle of installing a SBC with a 700R4 trans. It won't be long now and I'll be cruisin' with this baby. I am use to working on midwest rustbuckets, done 3 frame offs, and I really didn't want to do another. I found this old missouri truck, it's rock solid floors, only rust is a little on the bottoms of the fenders and a couple pinholes in one rocker. I've got the panels to replace both fender bottoms and both rockers. This old girl still has the original wood bed in good condition. Had 58,000 actual miles, but the old v6 had sat too long and would have cost a fortune to rebuild, so switching it out for a v8 was the best option and was my long term plan anyway, so here we go. I'll document progress as a I go now that i can do pictures.

Re: My Project

That looks like a good truck to work with. Is that 327 basically stock?

Re: My Project

It's stock, put together from parts and pieces I had lying around. It's got 350 smog heads on it and an EGR intake with a small quadrajet and I have some headers for it. It will serve until I can get a better engine. It has a couple cylinders with only 90 lbs, the rest have 120, but it does run ok. I think it will get me by for awhile.
