Fabricating Radiator Support - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Has anybody made their own radiator support. I need a replacement and the aluminum radiator I have does not exactly fit in mine as it is so I will be fabricating my own. I was hoping for some ides or advice. Thanks ahead of time.

I have an afco aluminum in mine. I modified the lower mounts to accept the thicker radiatior and built a new top mount that works like the original. Is you new unit too wide, or too short?

it is too wide i had it in there with some brackets before so I was thinking about building it and having the two center supports moved out each about 1 inch. The biggest problem I have is the bottom c channel of my old support is gone so I do not know how tall to make the new one.

I used the 67-72 radiator brackets.

Made a upper and lower cap for the radiator to spread the load.

Made my own fan shroud

The way it looks now.
