Improved my 87's front end.
So is a tube grille considered 'old school'? Put my $30 tube grille on my 87, great improvement in looks. The 87 GMC is the ugliest of the 73-87 grilles IMO, and mine was missing some slats. I am thinking of cutting the GMC emblem from the old grille and mounting it on the tube grille, in fact, I think I will because I haven't seen it done like some Chevy emblems I've seen (I'm thinking it has been, I just don't remember seeing it).
Also painted the headlight surrounds, used Rustoleum 'Metallic Finish', turned out real good. Straightened the top trim piece, had some dents in it. Still could use a good front bumper, and I need to glue down my dash cap. Oh, last week I got a $50 topper, or camper top as some southerners call it, gives me some more weatherproof storage room, I'm thinking of it for an engine swap I'm going to do on a 2000 Toyota Spyder since I don't have a garage (room and board for your Florida gulf coast vacation for some labor help on my garage, or let's have a weekend garage party/truck gathrering. Sorry for my scratched up cell phonecam lens pictures, someone said it looked like a dream sequence from a soap opera.

Ive got a tube grille in my garage & also some stock grille bowties . Put one of the bowties on the grille . Looks really good . Will post it on the for sale forum soon . The yellow bowtie really sets the old school tube grilles off in my opinion.

Looks good! The original grille is what I had before I updated it to the 91 GMC front end.
