TPI install

Hey guys I would like in get some info from someone that has done an TPI swap over. I have been looking for a complete donor camaro 85-92 that I can do the complete swap. Engine but keep my tranny.
I have do some research and I think I am on the right track. I am after better fuel mileage up in Canada we pay way to much for fuel so if I can improve that I feel it will be worth it.

305 vs 350?
Any year that I should look for?
Any thoughts
