Question about fuel cell. Can it be filled from the bumper?

Hey guys I found these fuel cells online but I wanted to modiy them a tad.

http://www.performanceonline.com/197...ILL-AGT7387-B/

Do you think I can relocate the fill hole to the side of the tank instead of on the top. I want to be able to fill the tank through a hidden gas door behind the license plate.

Do you guys think that will work or is it a bad idea? I just dont want to cut a hole in my bed...

Thanks

Looks like it would need some serious modification. Honestly, I would want it like that too.

license plate will sit below the top of the fuel tank...so I don't see it working. Why not mod the tail-light like ken had done on his old Blazer...would be even cooler.

It would work as long as the fuel level in the tank is lower than the filler neck hole (where the cap goes) If the filler neck is too low, you won't be able to fill the tank all the way and gasoline will constantly be on the cap and it'll run out when you open it. That wouldn't be a problem until the seal on the gas cap starts to leak on down the road.

Again I was thinkining the exact same. Your right. Plus what if you didn't put the gas cap on good? If you stomp on the accelerator all that fuel is going to spill out all over your truck and all over the road.

I too would love to see the custom taillight you all speak of...
