We've had my wife's dad's 85 lwb at the house here for about a year or more, and it had not ran for around a year prior to that. Basically we were a storage place so that he wouldn't get a ticket. Ever since my bro in-law owned it, it has called to me, but I didn't have the cash when he was selling it. So as it sat at my house needing a timing chain, the wife decided, thru schoffering her dad around for three weeks (because of her sisters broke down car), to trade her 02 grand am for the truck. Bad deal, right..... wrong if your a true Chevy truck lover. So last week I drag it over to my folks to start the wrenching, (cam, lifters, gears, and timing chain). Well I recruited the neighbor, cause he has forgotten more than I'll ever know about cars. He says lets see if it's getting spark, mind you me and my dad got this thing to fire once, but only once. but you guessed it no spark. I fooled with the distributor cap and wires, no spark, so I take out the distributor for the neighbor to look over (wires and connections) no signs of trouble there. Could be ignition module or the condenser, now I'm really lost. This is getting long so here's the ending, I get the module checked , put it all back together, put it back in the truck. After battery issues the next morning and a little gas in the carb this thing fires right up and I'm driving it home, with no clue as to what I did to fix it
