He says in the fine print it has to bring at least $300... since he has no reserve, can he do that?

Hey Guys, I found this post this morning before I went to work and had to follow the link to the ebay auction. Is it just my eyes or was it to early in the morning to see clearly (04:00 AM) but it would seem that the electrical connector is flat or straight. It is my understanding that the electrical for a truck tilt is a half moon type curved connector. Also from the picture angle it is hard to see if it is the correct shaft length. Maybe from the camera flash but the 4-way knob doesn't appear correct. Am I wrong or is this not a true truck tilt? Anyone who can verify this for me as to the cruved or straight connector? Would like to bid on this one but at a $300 reserve it would bite into my Line-ex bed spray cash. Can't have everything in life, think for the time being I would like the bed spray first. Plan on having that done next week. Still would like to verify if this is a true truck tilt for 67-72 trucks. Any one?

Iron,

I can't comment on the length issue, but the electrical connections in our old columns are entirely in the turn signal switch. If they don't match, it's a fairly simple matter to swap in the correct one.

In fact, now that I think about it, I've seen some "replacement" switches that are straight so that they can match multiple years, and have an adapter plug to match the half-round plug on the harness.

What's your ebay ID? I'm interested in this as well, but I wouldn't want to bid against you.

all the straight connector means is the turn signal switch has been changed in the last 20 years after everybody stopped carrying the correct one. The turn signal and tilt stalks are correct.

I have a chrome 4-way knob in my '67 column, mine is not a tilt tough.

Hey Guys, that was a quick reply on the question. Guess that connector situation is a "non-issue" issue.

bpmcgee, go for it man, like I said I would like to have it but really think the bed-spray for the truck takes priority. By the way I am registered as "dualfours", taken from my 57 2Dr sedan, 283 SBC, cammed, bored, dual Carter WCFB carbs with stock 57 GM dual four intake, Muncie 4 speed and 3:55 gears. Dual exhaust, headers and vintage Thrush mufflers that talk to you when you get on it. Not a BBC but pretty respectable.

da-burb,thanks also for the tip on the turn and tilt levers. Helps when I have some more spare play money for the truck.
