71 C-10 Drag/Center Link

The drag/center link is worn on my 71 C-10 so I thought that was easy enough. I went to several local parts stores and no one had one and they also could not order it. So I came home and got on the internet and no one carries the drag link. What I thought would be easy has turned out not so easy. Any suggestions?

The drag link isn't repopped, a used one is the only option. Search Craig's List and the Parts Board here, as well as local junkyards. If you were a Site Supporter you could post a WTB.

Don't have a pic in my photobucket library but the drag/center link is the bar that extends from side to side connecting the steering linkage. Look under your truck (below your radiator) you'll see the bar

Re: 71 C-10 Drag/Center Link

The center drag link is a non wearing part. The idler arm or pitman arm is a wearing part so what is worn on yours?

It appears the bolt on the driver's side was not tight and it wollered out the hole.

Re: 71 C-10 Drag/Center Link

There's a lot of trucks being parted out in the parts section of this forum. I'd be looking there.

I actually tired "RARE PARTS" and they do not have it. I went the Charlotte Auto fair today, $35 for a used one.
