4 speed driveshaft question
Does anyone know if there is a difference between a 4 speed driveshaft for 1/2 ton vs. one from a 3/4 ton? Both trucks are 8 ft bed trucks. Both trucks are leaf spring trucks.
Thanks

Re: 4 speed driveshaft question
I put a 3/4 ton driveshaft out of '67 into a 1/2 frame with the 1/2 rearend. I had to get what some calls a "jump" u-joint in to match the 3/4 ton driveshaft to the half ton rearend.
I like the 3/4 ton driveshaft better because it has a heavier carrier bearing.

Re: 4 speed driveshaft question
"Conversion" joints should be available at your local NAPA or if you live in a big enough city to have a driveline/clutch shop, they will have them too.
You might get them at a "chain store" if you already know the part number.....

Re: 4 speed driveshaft question
I got the one for my truck at a Fisher's Auto Parts, also some places called Federated.
