Frame question?
I went to pick up my frame off of my trailer tonight and noticed it gave a little more on the drivers side when i picked it up. It is like it is twisted. When i welded the step notch in i had it level and supported. I dont think it is a big deal, I hope not anyway. Has anyone noticed this on your frame. It lifts about two inches higher when you start to feel the wieght of it. I think once i get the wieght of the truck on it, it will be fine. Any comment or suggestions would be great, thanks again Daniel.

Re: Frame question?
I think these frames are really flimsy when you start removing crossmembers.
How many factory crossmembers did you remove? I had a frame with the 3-speed crossmember, tranny crossmember, and trailing am crossmember all removed,... and it did seemed to twist easily. Nate Porter has a cool tubular crossmember that bolts on top of the frame in the rear to help stiffen things up.

Re: Frame question?
at one time i had a lot of them removed, i have replaced them with a front dropmember, factory trailing arm crossmember, and a notch with a beefy bridge. i am only missing the trans. crossmember.
i was thinking when i installed the dropmember i tightened all the bolts on one side and then the other. maybe i should loosen them and tighten them from side to side. do you think this would help? |

Re: Frame question?
That could help.
I think I woulld level it on a set of jack stands first. Then see if loosening all the Dropmember bolts makes it move any.

Look down in the middle of this page.
There are a few different threads, and others on the other two pages. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...archid=1844028
