If you can build another truck, then go ahead if you like the clone more. Either way you are still good IMO.

Re: Should I trade my truck for this? Thoughts and opinions wanted..

I would make the trade if the Pontiac wasn't a pig covered in lipstick. I love my truck, but it would be really easy to replace if I wanted another.

I'm with you, spudz. You don't mess with a man's stuff.

He suggested that the "new owner" pop the badgs off, not some stranger.

Re: Should I trade my truck for this? Thoughts and opinions wanted..

All depends on what you want. In the end, that's what matters. A true 68 Lemans with great paint, 350, Muncie M21 4 speed and all original options etc. can get up to 10 - 12k. A GTO of the same gets 25 - 35k. My first CAR was a 68 Lemans. 350 , muncie m21, hurst linkage , green with factory white vinyl top. I kick my self often for letting it go. Same with the 66 GTO, 62 Grand Prix, 66 Pony Mustang.......Who knew??? Just be darn sure you know what you are buying. The GTO garb on a Lemans doesn't help it at all.

Plus it will be worth more as a lemans anyway
Who cares if it is a base model Lemans. There is a huge market out there for cloned cars because jerk offs who have more money than brains have went to Barret Jackson sales and ran the prices of these cars so far up it isn't even funny. The OP I'm sure has a good idea of what he is doing and was just looking for some ideas/support I'm sure.

To the first part of your statement: I tell you what. I deal with corvette guys all the time because of my car. If anyone of those aholes did anything to my ride because they didn't like it, it wouldn't be pretty. Either respect each man's property or shut your mouth, leave it alone and just go away.

Re: Should I trade my truck for this? Thoughts and opinions wanted..

You have another GTO and you are familiar with Pontiac so you know what you are getting yourself into and know what to look for.

I would do it just because it is a clone. It's no fun having a rare muscle car you are afraid will get damaged or have to worry about busting a matching numbers engine or trans every time you play around with it.

As a clone you can have the look of the GTO you want but don't have to worry about losing much of the value of the car if you throw a rod through the side of the block or you grenade the trans. Plus it wouldn't be a crime to give it some modern upgrades to the brakes & suspension.

I would go for it. As was stated earlier, 68 A-body Pontiac's are not easy to find be it a LeMans or GTO but square bodies are everywhere. It would be easy to build another truck just like you have now if you choose to do so.

x2 Its a GTO with some $$ sense. Do you know how many fords are running around with chevy small blocks? nobody says anything about that. I'd get it. I like old mustangs myself and if I found a GOOD boss clone like this lemans, I'd jump on it. I REALLY like my truck but nothings been quite like driving the mustang around...

Re: Should I trade my truck for this? Thoughts and opinions wanted..

It just depends on what you want . If I was to do te trade I would get personalized plates that say CLONE or NOTAGTO or something if you just want everyone to know its real identity. It is a good looking car and the truck is nice . One thing to remember is that you are asking a bunch of truck guys "Should I keep the truck or trade for the car?"
Which one do you like and which one is worth more? If you really like the truck but the car is worth much more , then I would trade it , sell the car , use the money to build a better square.
