Oil Pan Drainplug Stuck
Any recommendations on how to remove? Looks as if the pan hit something and kind of jammed the bolt. Hate to torque on it too hard for fear of screwing things up even more. Worst case scenario is replacing the entire oil pan, which I don't think will be too hard. Thoughts? Comments? It's a 283. Thanks.

Re: Oil Pan Drainplug Stuck
For what a new oil pan cost these days it may be just worth saving the headaches and replace it.
I do recommend a one piece gasket if you do this and depending on the age of the motor it probably wouldn't hurt to throw a new oil pump in at the same time. The pan can be removed from the truck without much trouble at all. |
