control arm shaft question

Would like to get some advice on weather i should replace or use what i have. I blasted one of them earlier today and its in good shape i think they will all clean up nicely. My questions is if there is a reason i should replace these instead of just using them. Also if i do re use them does anyone make the new rubbers for them and maybe a new bolt with the zerk fitting?

lol thanks. ill add this since im here on rock auto it would be 160 to replace them all with moog raybestos is about half of that. id like to go moog if i did have to replace them but the price difference is quite a bit. someones input on that would be nice too. i already bought all moog balljoints and tierods

Hopefully this helps you out somewhat I looked on the autozone web site and it looks like they have shaft rebuild kits with the parts to rebuild the shaft for like $31, so you should be able to find a good supplier to get what you're lookin for

When my front end was being lowered with ECE spindles and the conversion to disc brakes was done, we replaced the control arm shafts and bushings with new stuff from NAPA. Of course, the upper/lower ball joints and tie rod ends and center link and idler arm and pitman arm were replaced, too.

I decided new control arm shafts were the way to go, instead of just installing new bushings.

When it was put on the alignment rack, it was aligned to OEM specs.

if it looks good i don't think you need to replace it, bushings are cheap especially through napa or something and you can get zerk fittings there too, the threads look good so thats all i would worry about looks like it needs a little paint

Yea i sandblasted it to see what it looked like. if i use them ill por15 them i bought a small kit.

yea i checked advanced they sell moog and oe and im not comfortable using oe but rock auto sells moog cheaper then advanced.

Screw the bushings onto the shaft. How does the fit feel? You will be able to tell easily enough whether the shafts need replacing or not.
