Just for clarification.......was not sure you had understood the reasoning behind welding a nut on the end of the broken bolt.


The idea is to weld a nut onto the end of the broken off piece to aid in extraction. You cannot replace it if it is stuck in place. It would be the best method of extracting the bolt.

yes i understood that,but the remaining bolt don`t stick out enough to weld anything to.

Place a nut over the hole and put the wire in the middle against the broken piece and fill the void inside the threaded area.

i know what you are sayin.... i weld at work... even certified...it wouldn`t work. the bolt broke too far in.
btw i got it out tonight had to take the glide out,push back the piston,and slide the pads off to get more room.then take a sazall and cut the bolt, trying to leave as much as possible,and still get the caliper off.
then i got a pipe wrench and cheater bar... come right out..
and thanks for all the suggetions..
