Gas Tank Filler & Vent Hose - Stepsides?

Were can I get a Gas Tank Filler & Vent Hose for 87 stepside. Local parts stores do not carry them, internet sites seem not to carry stepside parts only fleetside.

Can I use a fleetside hose on the stepside? Suggestions on making one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you looking for the metal piece that bolts to the fender or the hose that goes to the tank?

When I replumbed the saddles on my '84 dually, NAPA wanted an arm and a leg for the "special" fuel hose, so I bought a foot, cut it into 3 inch pieces, and bent some 1.250" muffler tubing to fit and hose clamped it in place. Not pretty, but very functional. Waaaaaaaay cheaper than pre-moulded hoses from the dealer Paul.

What size rubber hose did you use.

IIRC, it was 1 3/8ths. Measure the OD of the fill neck on your tank to be sure. Paul.

Re: Gas Tank Filler & Vent Hose - Stepsides?

just a thought...the fuel tanks for stepsides and fleetsides are the same, but the metal pieces that bolt to the beds for the filler hoses are different.

My consern is the galve steel for exhaust tube. Will it breakdown with gas. I guess a 316 SS tube would be better? Then Im at the 60 bucks for the rubber if I have someone fab this up for me
