Gauge choices?
I want to replace my oil presure, water temp, and voltmeter with gauges that are more accurate - I'm looking for something that looks original. Does anyone have any ideas? Is mechanical or electrical preferred? What size are they, 2-5/8"?

Re: Gauge choices?
I think some have installed the Autometer gauges, same size. Do a search and you will find the conversions, looked good.

Re: Gauge choices?
I got this picture off of Ebay a while ago to show that you can mix/match, although I don't care for white with black mix.

Re: Gauge choices?
Here's a link to Classic Instruments who make a set of gauges that closely resemble the factory ones.
http://www.classicinstruments.com/ga...&SeriesCode=GS Also, here's an image of what they look like mounted in a new 67-72 gauge panel.

Re: Gauge choices?
Those are pretty pricey, but I bet they're accurate.

Re: Gauge choices?
Dan, I think 2 5/8 but I'm not sure, sorry. Here is a link for 2 5/8 guages that is good info on a couple of swaps that came out sweet. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=110613

Re: Gauge choices?
AUTO-METER MAKES SEVERAL OLD-TIMEY LOOKING SETS THAT FIT RIGHT IN A STOCK BEZEL. I'VE DONE A FEW INSTRUMENT PANELS & AUTO-METER IS THE BEST ONES THAT I'VE FOUND, ALTHOUGH THEY'RE A LITTLE PRICEY, BUT SHOOT... SEEMS LIKE THEY ALL ARE. JOHN

Re: Gauge choices?
Thanks guys. That's gonna help quite a bit. I'm gonna stay as stock looking as possible.

Re: Gauge choices?
Saw these at Good Guys, due to be released in Oct by Dakota Digital.
I really like the way they look in person. 800 for the pair so I guess it will only be a dream.....

Re: Gauge choices?
Doesn't look factory, but IMO doesn't look "out of place" either.

Re: Gauge choices?
This is what I did with mine. The one on the left is B&M and the one on the right is an Auto-Meter. Not in the truck any more, but it is for sale.
