tranny sticks in 1st gear up to 35mph?!

350 just got rebuilt and it sticks in 1st up to 35mph, then kcks into 2nd.didnt do it before.i would like to get some suggestions before i tel the mech.im guessing its something that didnt get plugged in right or something that is old and needs replacement anyway.some one had to have had this issue before.thanks for the help in advance.

thats the cable connected from the carb that goes over to the passenger side right?
is their any specific way to adjust it?, or do i just try and see if it gets better or worse?

YUPPERS!!!
I thought I took a good look yesterday but i didnt know what i was looking for.
Sure enough, the vacuum hose to the module was disconected.
i shoulda took a better look.But its back to how it was shifting properly now.The freshly rebuilt 350 feels damn nice too!

I had that same problem a few years back. Took me the longest time to figure out the little elbow vacuum line had a big fat hole worn in it
