'73-87 Column in a '67?

I have an '84 6.2 diesel C10 that was my daily driver till a deer smashed it, so I am trying to see what I can use in my '67 GMC. I am wondering about the steering column, and how these fit in the '67-72 trucks. I know it has the key on it (not a big deal), however it's a floor shift tilt column, and I would like to use it if it's not too much of a pain. I'm also using the 4-speed transmission and hydroboost brakes out of the donor truck. The engine needs work, so I'm likely not swapping that in right now.

Anybody done this column swap? How do they compare in length and mounting plates, etc? Wiring is not an issue, I can figure that out.

From what I've read the column is almost a straight swap. Only diffrence is how it's mounted. You will have to do a little fab work, but not much. I'm gonna run the same column in my 64.

Do a search on here, several people have done the swap.

I've searched for quite a while and seen lots of mention of people doing it, just nothing with photos or details on what's different or what needs to be done.

Can't find it but there was a post with a picture, said column bolted in but had to cut the instrument bezel because it's bigger diameter. I have an 81 tilt that I am going to try and fit up but haven't got to that point yet.

I'll have to measure my columns. If it is a bigger diameter, I might consider a stock tilt, or if I can't find one, a van tilt or an aftermarket column...
