Tranny cooler question.
Should I mount this cooler to the inside or outside of the frame rail like streetrodders do or should I find another place. Its made from aluminum so id guess it would dissapate heat pretty good all on its own..

Re: Tranny cooler question.
Mount it to the inside frame rail on the outside it will be hit by debris from the tires and your tranny lines run on the inside of the frame rails as well
Just an FYI - if you intention is for that cooler to be used in a HD towing or high stall apllication you may want to rethink your options - a plate and frame cooler will do a much better job

Re: Tranny cooler question.
Are you running the cooler in addition to the stock heat exchanger in the radiator, or just the cooler itself?

Re: Tranny cooler question.
I'm curious also. Does anyone have a part number for any of those coolers?

Re: Tranny cooler question.
Rob I dont have a part number as I bought 2 of them at hout august nights from a vendor there.. I do have one mounted on my v-8 powdered yota and it seems to always be pretty cool to the touch but its mounted right out front near the radiator. I was wanting to hide this one under my 72 on the inside frame rail just pass the cab.

Re: Tranny cooler question.
I bought mine at a swap meet last year- $30. But I think that Summit and Jeg's both carry them. I am using mine as an addition on my '66 and mounted it behind the bumper as well.
