sloppy / difficult shifting
the "heavy duty" 4spd in my 67 c20 has a ton of slop in the shifter. is also difficult to get into 2nd upon occassion. solutions? also, what model tranny would this be? plate on the side reads "9 26 66 435"

If it is the 4-speed with a very low first gear, it is probably the 465. It is impossible to shift that thing quickly, I know because I have one, but they are supposed to be very tough. There is a kit that the dealer can sell that is supposed to take out the excess slop, but I do not know what is included or if it even works that well. Good luck,

mine wont go into gear sometime because one of the forks in the casing is loose (the one where the linkage hooks up to) usually if i double clutch it, it will go in fine.
