junk yard scores repost

Had to reword things. Long time no post. Scored some things at the junk yard. Determined to get my washers and intermittent wipers going. Got a handful of modules. If none seem to work, time for a new switch. Some neat sun visors from a 88 Burb. A good door lock actuator. Won some grey door panels and trim from flea bay. Didn't realize they were Surburban door panels. Oh well driver door will just have to have quad switches. Included grey trim I have NO use for. Painted the panels today. Came out nice. Also redid the area behind the seat. Tired of the trashed look. Carpet from a newer chevy truck behind the seat.

Looks like it cleaned up well. What did you do to clean up the area behind the seats. Was it just carpet over particle board and screwed in? Sure came out nice behind the seats.

Re: junk yard scores repost

There was that black cardbord stuff back there. Was all ratty. I installed the new carpet just like it was installed on the chevy truck I got it out of. It was too tall so I trimmed it. No backing board. Just attached it with new push tabs from parts store. Had to drill holes for them. The bottom piece was trimmed and glued with carpet glue. My buddy has a new black storage tray from a 2000 ford thats going in as soon as I get it.

Here are some other low budget junk yard mods. Dome light from an older chevy van, rear headrests from the back seat of a volvo, speakers in center console, steering wheel from a 88 chevy. Also not shown is a am/fm remote controlled CD player under driver side of front seat. Couldn't bring myself to hack the dash for a new stereo.

Re: junk yard scores repost

I like the dome light replacement. Another light idea would be a rear view mirror that has the map lights built in it.
