Little bit of paint and body work this weekend

So I got to do a little body work and throw some rustoleum on the old GMC this weekend.
Here is how it started

Stripped off all the trim scuffed the clear and hit it with some primer

Pulled the bed painted the rims and started the body work

Both cab corners were shot painted with POR and then fiberglass

My father in-law did all the fiberglass and bondo work

My little helper

All painted and put back together

the paint and body work are far from perfect but I was really just going form rust protection for this winter and besides it just a work truck.

I gotta say, I was worried on the first primer pic but it turned out spectacular! Great job!

doesn't look bad at all but be prepared for the cab corners to show up later if they had rust holes and just got fiberglass mat over them after por 15, might take it along time though with por15.

If they last me a few years I am good this is just a preservation effort to buy some time until I can make some proper repairs.
I eventually want to replace the front fenders the PO cut all to hell and make it a little nicer in general but for now its just a daily driver and something to haul my quads, firewood, and whatever else and can throw at it.

Re: Little bit of paint and body work this weekend

you might get by for a long time doing por15 on it, and mat, regualr smear on fiberglass(duraglass) and bondo usually last 6 months or a year because the area rusts further and then the body work pops out or falls out after time and blisters around the bondo.

POR15 should stop the rust so that repair might last forever, it was a pretty good idea and something to try and get by with for a while I like it lol. I've seen and done almost every cheap trick in the book to cover up rust holes. Gotta love ebing up here in all the salt in the winters, I bet Oh gets way more then us too.
