Re: 1967 hubcap trivia (but i dont know the answer)

Thanks Doug (aka the man who's post almost convinced me to bag this truck)
I wish I knew the story on them caps!
I worked on him for about 10 years to sell me this truck and he finally did about a year before he passed. It had not run in several years and my uncles couldn't make it. After I got it home dad and I cleaned out the old gas and set the points with a paper match and she fired up! I drove it a little but the cam is flat and the pistons are prolly about to try and swap holes. I recently dropped a 350 I had in it and am now massing parts to put disks on the front. The fam thinks I'm crazy but I'm dropping it 3.5/5 so it's a little bit me and a whole lot PaPa!

I'll bet your PaPa wouldn't have it any other way. He probably would have said "Boy your going to ruin a good truck, but if that's what you want lets get to it"....

Ha! Ironically, that is my dad's current stance... and he has no idea of how low its gonna be!

I am going to leave it looking exactly like it is for now (excluding the drop).
i do have a vision of what i would like in the future (droped and painted) and i figure if i am gonna do brakes and springs (both fronts were broken at first loop and drums were oblitterated) i might as well not spend the $$ twice.
PLUS, i think it will be fun to drive that crusty old thing sitting low and making folks wonder WTH! (the folks in my 'hood will be delighted)
