1992 Chevy 1500
Ok.. here goes. My friend Robbin wants to sell her late husbands 1992 1500 Silverado Regular cab. It's a V8 Auto. 157,000 miles. Power windows and doors. It was used as a work truck but not much. It runs strong and the engine sounds good and smooth. It has aftermarket alloy wheels that look good.
I have possession of it right now. It has the following problems that I can tell so far. A/C blows hot. Not sure if there is a leak or not. Aftermarket stereo doesn't work A front tire looks like it has a bubble on it so it shakes a TINY bit. It's more noticeable at very low speeds, say less than 5 mph, than at higher speeds Brake Rotors definitely need turned. Drivers window will not go down all the way without pushing it or come up without pulling it. It sticks in the same three positions each time. When putting it into drive, The transmission MIGHT sometimes take a second to catch after shifting but not everytime. It's shifts fine while driving. Interior is very dirty with a few cigarette burns in the seats but no rips however the headliner needs replaced. Body does not have any major dents but lots of tiny ones from hauling wood. Paint is peeling on cab. Doesn't look bad from a distance. Over all, It runs pretty strong and smooth. No leaks that I can see. I know he took care of it mechanically. It really hasn't been driven for a year and a half while he was sick. What should I ask for it on Craigslist? Bluebook in the "FAIR" category is $1800. I wouldn't pay that much. I'll post a pic when it gets light outside. Last edited by BillGent; 09-10-2010 at 02:59 AM. |
