1967 hubcap trivia (but i dont know the answer)

ok all of you "aficionado's" ... i have a question.

would it be "TOTALLY UNLIKELY" of "feasibly possible" for a BASE, stripped down, no frills, no radio, etc, etc, '67 C10 to have been bought with '66 poverty caps?

my grandad bought this truck new (only NEW vehicle he ever bought) and lets just say he was more than frugal (cheap sounds so harsh). anyhoo, he is no longer with us and i have been doing a little work on the truck and noticing that pretty much EVERYTHING i touch has NEVER BEEN touched but those hubcaps look like 66's to me.
let me also say that the truck is RUFF... so it aint a gold mine! but i love it! (complete with rebar cow hauler bed rack)

yep, the caps are 64-66 vintage, but who cares!! it's still a cool old truck..... and the best part you know it's life history!

What if....someone at the dealership wanted the new caps for his truck and put a set from a '66 on your grandfathers' new truck? Regardless...you know the truck and the story.

Re: 1967 hubcap trivia (but i dont know the answer)

Thanks Doug (aka the man who's post almost convinced me to bag this truck)
I wish I knew the story on them caps!
I worked on him for about 10 years to sell me this truck and he finally did about a year before he passed. It had not run in several years and my uncles couldn't make it. After I got it home dad and I cleaned out the old gas and set the points with a paper match and she fired up! I drove it a little but the cam is flat and the pistons are prolly about to try and swap holes. I recently dropped a 350 I had in it and am now massing parts to put disks on the front. The fam thinks I'm crazy but I'm dropping it 3.5/5 so it's a little bit me and a whole lot PaPa!

Now there is a thought!!!
Knowing him, he probably instigated a swap for a little off the sticker!

hubcaps could be bought as a dealer installed option. the dealer probably tossed them on from there parts shelf when one was missing or dented upon delivery or after a test drive.

I'll bet your PaPa wouldn't have it any other way. He probably would have said "Boy your going to ruin a good truck, but if that's what you want lets get to it"....

Ha! Ironically, that is my dad's current stance... and he has no idea of how low its gonna be!

I am going to leave it looking exactly like it is for now (excluding the drop).
i do have a vision of what i would like in the future (droped and painted) and i figure if i am gonna do brakes and springs (both fronts were broken at first loop and drums were oblitterated) i might as well not spend the $$ twice.
PLUS, i think it will be fun to drive that crusty old thing sitting low and making folks wonder WTH! (the folks in my 'hood will be delighted)
