Coil Spring Help

I would like to replace the rear coil springs on my 71 Longbed. The existing springs are the variable rate style and the SPID shows the HD Rear Spring option. I have looked in several catalogs for new springs but no one list a HD rear spring for 1/2 ton. They only list it for the 3/4 ton. Are the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton HD springs the same? I would like to maintain stock spring height. Does anyone have a recommendation for a quality supplier?

Re: Coil Spring Help

My main questions are if the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton HD springs are the same and if anyone has recommendations on supplier. I have seen springs anywhere from about $89 to $160 a pair.

Re: Coil Spring Help

Look at www.earlyclassic.com.

My SWB '69 was equipped with 2000-lb coils and it rode like a rock....much too much spring for a short wheelbase truck, but it was evidently ordered to tow a camper trailer.
