I went to the salvage yard nearby, and hunted down a kickdown for the TH475. not that I really needed it, the 454 produces plenty-o-torque, but what the heck. picked up two kickdown switches, and wiring, for $5.43!!
10 min. later, and WOW!! this is what I've been missing!! she's so much lighter on her feet.
