Re: tune up/ mass air flow question
well i finally had time to mess with my truck, i took the o2 sensors out on left side and it idled alot better, but when i took it for a ride it still ran the same, like it wanted to go as fast as my foot was trying to make it, but there was something holding it back, the check engine light comes on still and flashes and then goes out, but it only did it after the o2 sensore were in again while they were out it didn tflash at all, so back to the drawing board i guess, i read my owners manula and it said when light flashes it useally something to do with emissions, any truth to that? and any ideas on what it could be now? has new oem plugs, new wires, just changed oil tonight, the onl thing can think of is the coil packs are causeing the problem, thanks gus any info once again will be apprecated

The K&N filter is very thin & porous, It relies on the oil to trap the dirt that whould otherwise end up in your engine. |

Re: tune up/ mass air flow question
I just had a plugged cat on a 02 malibu with the 3100. I drilled a 7/16" hole before the cat and the car ran like crap still. I then cut the cat out and the car ran like it was supposed to. Maybe the O2 sensor hole isn't big enough on you truck? Just a thought.

Re: tune up/ mass air flow question
well my truck got a little better running wise for a week or so, now i noticed last night that about 95% of the noise from my daul exhaust and the fumes from the exhaust is coming out the left tail pipe, and about 5% is coming out the right tail pipe so that leads me to believe that the cat is clogged, it stalls a lot now barely idels when it is running, what you guys think, is thae cat causeing all this or could it be something else

Re: tune up/ mass air flow question
Coils run from $35 for cheapies to $100 each for the Delco (depending on which coil you have). So you would rather drop $300-$800 on parts that aren't bad/you haven't checked out? The dealers get around $85 per hour here and good, compentent shops will get about 2/3's of the dealer cost per hour, still cheaper than 8 crappy coils for an hour or 2 of diagnosis. Take it to a shop, have them hook it up and analyize the data. Don't throw parts at the problem, you'll end up at the end at all the money you spent that didn't fix it.
