Re: Finally Making some progress!
So far everything is pretty close. I am missing a fitting for the return on the power steering box that I can't seem to track down any where locally. The radiator is a little bigger than ideal, but it will work for now. I need to fab up some mounts for it, get the radiator hoses, fill everything with fluids, pop in the fuses for everything, get a serpentine belt, and fire it off.
I have HP Tuners, so I'll need to delete the VATS and rear 02 codes, but other then that it is close! |

Re: Finally Making some progress!
IMO, get a wideband and delete the front O2's as well, toss the MAF in the garbage and tune her in Speed Density.

Re: Finally Making some progress!
Speed denisity would be nice, but I have all the stuff to run it with the maf. I run my gto with the maf still and haven't had any issues.

Re: Finally Making some progress!
Don't take what I said as ther eis a "problem" with the MAF, I have just personally seen gains power wise with out it with little to no sacrifice in drivability.

Re: Finally Making some progress!
Oh I hear ya. Right now I just want to get this thing running haha. I may end up going that way in the future. My buddy who is a well respected tuner up here in the NE suggested that if I go anymore aggressive with the cam in my car then I should think about going speed density too. I also have a few buddies with sc cars who are all SD tuned and their cars drive great. Right now I am more concerned with getting the truck running so I can use it to tow my car back to the track haha!

Re: Finally Making some progress!
It's a measly lil 5.3. It is going to be my daily driver/tow vehicle for my 06 GTO. I drag race the gto, I don't need to race the truck!! Although I did tell my wife she will have to drive the truck down the track so I can do some tuning.....
I do have a bare ls1 block and bare 6.0 block in my shed just waiting to be built. The GTO gets the first new motor though, its been 11.18, I'd like to get it well into the tens before abandoning the stock ls2. |
