FS: NOS Aux Battery Box

Dug this one out of a old box: NOS Aux Battery Box. Three peices, LS, RS and tray. I bolted onto a Rad Support at one time. It sat for a few years in a barn. Will need to be cleaned, some surface rust only. Will need to be assembled too (tray spot welded). $125.00 shipped inside USA / not Alaska.

Re: FS: NOS Aux Battery Box

Keep looking and thinking " I need hard to find NOS parts" ! It does look a little ragged. But, it was bolted to a rad support with a battery stitting in it for two years. The barn was open so, it got some good ole' Florida surface rust on it. There is no pitting or anything.

Re: FS: NOS Aux Battery Box

Honestly, if I had a need for it on my build, I would have snatched this up a while ago. Out of curiosity, what type of wiring is needed for this? Is there a special harness for the engine compartment to connect this to the alternator/volatege regulator?

Re: FS: NOS Aux Battery Box

The Aux. Batt. harness was added to the front harness of a truck. I think Tim Christain has one on another thread on this page. Its a good deal, I think the NOS bottom is worth $85.00 - same as all other 67-72 battery tray bottoms.

There's also a drawing of the harness in the assembly manual. You can build yourself one for next to nothing. The relay is about the only thing you need other than an extra 2 battery junction blocks and some wire. I posted pics of my install on a Blazer thread a while ago.

If I didn't already have one, I'd buy this one. I paid the same price for a repop one.
